APP UPDATE

It has been announced that the R&A has taken a 50% stake in Dotgolf and that can only be a good sign of future improvements. Having the golfing world's most important legislator behind the My Scottish Golf App suggests it will become the main provider of golf administration tools for golf clubs throughout the UK.

Windyhill has also been informed that testing is underway to link Eposnow, our till provider, to Dotgolf's procedures. This could mean the amalgamation of the competition account and the bar card will finally be possible.

Rhys will be present in the shop each Saturday and Sunday for the next few weeks. He will be able to give out scorecards, assist with entering the medal and sell water, soft drinks and chocolate - cash only in the shop.

Subscriptions 2024

Subscription invoices were emailed on 3rd January to all members who had notified the club of an email address. Should any member not have seen this email, it might be worthwhile checking in any Junk or Spam folder. A small number of invoices were posted to members with no email address.

The Executive Board thanks the 50 members who have already paid their subscription, either in part or the total amount. Any member still intending to pay in full can do so online to the Windyhill Account 00203721 sort code 832515. Please remember to use your name as a reference.

Members who were part of the 2023 direct debit scheme need do nothing as they will remain on the 2024 scheme. The first payment will be collected on 1st February. Any member who wishes to join the scheme must complete a bank mandate form as soon as possible. Forms can be collected from the office or bar.

Competitions and Medals

The online calendar of competitions and medals is gradually being entered into the Fixtures Page of the club website.

Entry forms for the club knockout competitions can be collected and returned to the bar - Penman [Foursomes], Gilfillan Oattes [Fourball] and Campbell Douglas [Singles].

At the moment no final decision has been made on competitions during October. This can be a challenging month by way of weather and the Greens Team will be coring and sanding greens at this time. The Executive Board would like some feedback from members on whether to hold non-counting competitions such as a Texas Scramble or provide competitions which count for handicap purposes. Send your views to manager@windyhillgolfclub.co.uk.

Windyhill's 3 Open Competitions - Senior Open, Windyhill Trophy and Jubilee Trophy, are now live on the website and members and affiliated golfers can enter them now.
